iTunes: Clear All Library and Playlists

My iTunes was a rickety mess. I had links to songs that didn’t exist on my hard drive anymore, duplicates and a bunch of playlists that I didn’t need anymore. I wanted to start over. I could delete all of this data by individually selecting each item and deleting them, but that’s a pain. There is an easier way. Here’s what I did.

1. Close iTunes.

2. Open My Documents > My Music > iTunes.

3. Right-click iTunes Music Library.xml and select Rename. Give it a name of iTunes Music Library.old. Do the same thing for the iTunes Library.itl file.

4. Open iTunes. The library, playlist, ratings will then be cleared out. New iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library.itl files will be created.

5. You can now drag and drop your music files you want to get back to the main window of iTunes. The main folder for iTunes music is located at My Documents > My Music > iTunes > iTunes Music. It’s a good idea to organize your music files first before you re-add your music files back to iTunes to avoid duplicates and errant file names.

Girls Please Beware

Be aware before using Trial rooms or Wash rooms in shopping malls there may be pinhole cameras/ two-way mirrors.

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., How many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them. There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms or bathroom or bedrooms.

HOW TO DETECT HIDDEN CAMERAS IN TRAIL ROOM?

In front of the trial room take your mobile and make sure that mobile can make calls........
Then enter into the trail room, take your mobile and make a call.....
If u can't make a call......!!!!
There is a hidden camera......
This is due to the interference of fiber optic cable during the signal transfer......

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR IN WASH ROOM OR TRAIL ROOM?

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror.

However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! (There may be someone seeing you from the other side). So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do.

This is a really good thing to do. The reason there is a gap on a real mirror, is because the silver is on the back of the mirror UNDER the glass.

Whereas with a two-way mirror, the silver is on the surface. Keep it in mind! Make sure and check every time you enter in hotel rooms.

Please forward this to your friends to educate this issue to the public......To prevent our innocent ladies from HIDDEN CAMERA...........

Why LokPal Bill ?????

See how Lokpal Bill can curb the politicians.

Circulate it to create awareness...

  Existing System

System Proposed by civil society

No politician or senior officer ever goes to jail despite huge evidence because Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) and CBI directly come under the government. Before starting investigation or initiating prosecution in any case, they have to take permission from the same bosses, against whom the case has to be investigated.

Lokpal at centre and Lokayukta at state level will be independent bodies. ACB and CBI will be merged into these bodies. They will have power to initiate investigations and prosecution against any officer or politician without needing anyone's permission. Investigation should be completed within 1 year and trial to get over in next 1 year. Within two years, the corrupt should go to jail.

No corrupt officer is dismissed from the jobbecause Central Vigilance Commission, which is supposed to dismiss corrupt officers, is only an advisory body. Whenever it advises government to dismiss any senior corrupt officer, its advice is never implemented.

Lokpal and Lokayukta will have complete powers to order dismissal of a corrupt officer. CVC and all departmental vigilance will be merged into Lokpal and state vigilance will be merged into Lokayukta.

No action is taken against corrupt judges because permission is required from the Chief Justice of India to even register an FIR against corrupt judges.

Lokpal & Lokayukta shall have powers to investigate and prosecute any judge without needing anyone's permission.

Nowhere to go - People expose corruption but no action is taken on their complaints.

Lokpal & Lokayukta will have to enquire into and hear every complaint.

There is so much corruption within CBI and vigilance departments. Their functioning is so secret that it encourages corruption within these agencies.

All investigations in Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be transparent. After completion of investigation, all case records shall be open to public. Complaint against any staff of Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be enquired and punishment announced within two months.

Weak and corrupt people are appointed as headsof anti-corruption agencies.

Politicians will have absolutely no say in selections of Chairperson and members of Lokpal & Lokayukta. Selections will take place through a transparent and public   participatory process.

Citizens face harassment in government offices. Sometimes they are forced to pay bribes. One can only complaint to senior officers. No action is taken on complaints because senior officers also get their cut.

Lokpal & Lokayukta will get public grievances resolved in time bound manner, impose a penalty of Rs 250 per day of delay to be deducted from the salary of guilty officer and award that amount as compensation to the aggrieved citizen.

Nothing in law to recover ill gotten wealth. A corrupt person can come out of jail and enjoy that money.

Loss caused to the government due to corruptionwill be recovered from all accused.

Small punishment for corruption- Punishment for corruption is minimum 6 months and maximum 7 years.

Enhanced punishment - The punishment would be minimum 5 years and maximum of life imprisonment.

Spread it like fire...

Our Nation needs us..

Please Contribute..

This is not just a forward, it's the future of our Nation.

It's for a better tomorrow

Arrested

Hi ,

I just sent a fax to Chattisgarh CM, Raman Singh asking them to free activists Ramesh Agarwal and Dr. Harihar Patel.

Please read the mail below and take action. http://www.greenpeace.in/take-action/support-brave-activists-fax-raman-singh.php

Regards,

Dear ,

Stand up against coal and they put you in jail! Activist Ramesh Agrawal and Dr. Harihar Patel were arrested and Mr. Agrawal was even inhumanly chained to his hospital bed for exposing an environmental violation in Chattisgarh.[1]

Click here to ask CM Raman Singh to free activists Ramesh Agrawal and Dr. Harihar Patel
Mr. Agrawal and Dr. Patel exposed irregularities in the environmental clearance process for a coal fired thermal power plant being built by the Jindal group in Raigarh.[2] In return, they have been arrested on false charges. Their first two appeals for bail have been denied. A third bail plea will be heard at the Chattisgarh high court this week.

This is a struggle to save our environment from permanent damage. We need to act fast to help free Mr. Agrawal and Dr. Patel. The Chattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh needs to know that people across the country support brave activists like Ramesh Agrawal and Harihar Patel.

You should sign this fax asking Chattisgarh CM to free the brave activists and investigate those responsible for the false charges against them.

http://www.greenpeace.in/take-action/support-brave-activists-fax-raman-singh.php

The fax says 'Mr. Chief Minister, respect public opinion - release the activists and investigate those responsible for the false charges against them.'

Your signature will be faxed to the CM's office. People across the country and even outside it have been demanding their release. Lots and lots of faxes flooding the CM's office will help add more strength to this demand. It will help put pressure on the authorities to take action.

Even as Mr Agrawal and Dr. Patel languish in prison our government is looking at ways to fast track private coal mining projects in dense forest areas. A Group of Ministers entrusted with the task of choosing between the last remaining forests of central and eastern India and coal,[3] will meet next month to discuss this.

There are renewable energy [4] and energy efficiency measures can help meet our needs. Instead of looking at the alternatives the government is trying to gag those who are trying to stand up against coal, to save our environment and forests. Speak up now! Ask CM Raman Singh to free activists Ramesh Agrawal and Dr Harihar Patel.

Lokpal Bill - Hats Of to Anna Hazare.....

1. Who is Anna Hazare?

An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War. He was awarded PadmaBhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

2. What's so special about him?

He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra.

3. What is special about this village?

This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills. In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Really, what is he fighting for?

He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?

He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), bureaucrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

5. It's an entirely new thing right..?

In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

6. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?

The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed. Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% government participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

7. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

8. Is he alone? Who else is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?

Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more. Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher, Talat Aziz, Faroq Sheikh etc. are supporting his cause.

9. Ok, got it. What can I do?

At least we can spread the message. How? Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics. At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India. At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain. At least we can pray for his good health.

I am sending this out to all my contacts. My humble request to all is to do the same and spread the word.

8 things to know about IE9

Software giant Microsoft has launched the latest version of its browser, Internet Explorer 9 (IE9), in India. Unveiled at TechEd India 2011 in Bangalore. According to one report, when all versions of browsers are taken together, Internet Explorer leads the pack with 45% market share.

It's Available for download in 30 languages, the latest version of Microsoft Web browser reportedly tallied 2.3 million downloads on its first day of release.

Here's looking into all that's new in Microsoft's latest browser.

1.Speed: Internet Explorer 9 claims to be much faster than its predecessor. According to Microsoft, IE9's new graphic capabilities boost the browsers' performance. This means high-definition videos can now run smooth, graphics would be clearer and responsive and colours will be more clear, claims Microsoft. Hardware-accelerated text, video, and graphics speed up performance and make websites perform like programmes that are installed on the computer.

2.New Design: The latest version of the Internet Explorer has all several design changes. The back button has gone larger, the address bar and search box are combined into one address bar, and the multiple menus from previous versions of Internet Explorer are consolidated into a single menu.

3.Pin your favorite sites: The Pinned Sites feature in IE allows users to get their favourite sites directly from the Windows taskbar without having to open the browser first. To pin a site a user just needs to click the icon on the left of the Web address in One Box, or the tab for the website, or the website's icon on the New Tab page, and then drag it to the taskbar. Once a site is pinned, it shows up as its own thumbnail, separate from Internet Explorer.

4.Combined Search & Address bar: The latest version of Microsoft IE comes with One Box which has the functionality of combined search and Address bar. One Box allows users to either navigate to a website or start a search from one place. With this, users can start typing a Web address and AutoComplete helps them get to the websites quickly. And with the integrated search functionality, users don't have to remember the full web address.

5.Tab Page: With IE9, users can get a quick access to the sites they visit most often and can also reopen closed tabs or the last browsing session, or start an InPrivate Browsing session. The New Tab page also gives suggestions and information to help users decide what to browse next.

6.Performance Advisor: Add-on Performance Advisor tells users if an add-on is slowing down the browser. The features works by identifying add-ons that may be slowing down the browser. It gives users information about which add-on they need to disable or how to fix the problem.

7.Privacy: IE 9 has also added several new privacy features. There's a Tracking Protection that limits the browser's communication with certain websites to keep users' browsing activities private. The Tracking Protection feature helps users decided which third-party sites can receive their information and track them online.

8. Download Manager: Internet Explorer 9 has also got a Download Manager. The feature lets users see the status of their downloads, provides information about whether they might be potentially harmful, offers security checks on the downloaded files, and shows the final location of downloads. Download Manager keeps a running list of the files downloaded from Internet, notifies if a file could be malicious, and allows to pause and restart a download.

So Download the free version of IE9 now & enjoy enhanced web browsing experience!

Very useful Discussion on Heart Attacks!!!

Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Cardiac Surgeon, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore.

In 2001, Dr Shetty founded Narayana Hrudayalaya, a multi-specialty hospital in Bommasandra on the outskirts of Bangalore.         He also founded Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RTIICS) in Kolkata.
He has performed over 15,000 heart operations.

cid:image001.jpg@01CB22A3.980E9FE0

A chat with Dr.Devi Prasad Shetty, Cardiac Surgeon, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore was arranged by WIPRO for its employees.

The transcript of the chat is given below. Useful for everyone.

Qn: What are the ways in which the heart is stressed? What practices do you suggest to de-stress?

Ans: Change your attitude towards life. Do not look for perfection in everything in life.

Qn: What are the thumb rules for a layman to take care of his heart?

Ans:
1. Diet - Less of carbohydrate, more of protein, less oil
2. Exercise - Half an hour's walk, at least five days a week; avoid lifts and avoid sitting for a longtime
3. Quit smoking
4. Control weight
5. Control blood pressure and sugar

Qn: Is eating non-veg food (fish) good for the heart?

Ans: No

Qn: It's still a grave shock to hear that some apparently healthy person

gets a cardiac arrest. How do we understand it in perspective?

Ans: This is called silent attack; that is why we recommend everyone past the age of 30 to undergo routine health checkups.

Qn: Are heart diseases hereditary?

Ans: Yes

Qn: Is walking better than jogging or is more intensive exercise required to keep a healthy heart?

Ans: Walking is better than jogging since jogging leads to early fatigue and injury to joints

Qn: You have done so much for the poor and needy. What has inspired you to do so?

Ans: Mother Theresa , who was my patient

Qn: Can people with low blood pressure suffer heart diseases?

Ans: Extremely rare

Qn: Does cholesterol accumulates right from an early age
(I'm currently only 22) or do you have to worry about it only after you are above 30 years of age?

Ans: Cholesterol accumulates from childhood.

Qn: How do irregular eating habits affect the heart ?

Ans: You tend to eat junk food when the habits are irregular and your body's enzyme release for digestion gets confused.

Qn: How can I control cholesterol content without using medicines?

Ans: Control diet, walk and eat walnut.

Qn: Can yoga prevent heart ailments?

Ans: Yoga helps.

Qn: Which is the best and worst food for the heart?

Ans: Fruits and vegetables are the best and the worst is oil.

Qn: Which oil is better - groundnut, sunflower, olive?

Ans: All oils are bad .

Qn: What is the routine checkup one should go through? Is there any specific test?

Ans: Routine blood test to ensure sugar, cholesterol is ok. Check BP, Treadmill test after an echo.

Qn: What are the first aid steps to be taken on a heart attack?

Ans: Help the person into a sleeping position , place an aspirin tablet under the tongue with a sorbitrate tablet if available, and rush him to a coronary care unit since the maximum casualty takes place within the first hour.

Qn: How do you differentiate between pain caused by a heart attack and that caused due to gastric trouble?

Ans: Extremely difficult without ECG.

Qn: What is the main cause of a steep increase in heart problems amongst youngsters? I see people of about 30-40 yrs of age having heart attacks and serious heart problems.

Ans: Increased awareness has increased incidents. Also, s edentary lifestyles, smoking, junk food, lack of exercise in a country where people are genetically three times more vulnerable for heart attacks than Europeans and Americans.

Qn: Is it possible for a person to have BP outside the normal range of 120/80 and yet be perfectly healthy?

Ans: Yes.

Qn: Marriages within close relatives can lead to heart problems for the child. Is it true?

Ans : Yes, co-sanguinity leads to congenital abnormalities and you may not have a software engineer as a child

Qn: Many of us have an irregular daily routine and many a times we have to stay late nights in office. Does this affect our heart ? What precautions would you recommend?

Ans : When you are young, nature protects you against all these irregularities. However, as you grow older, respect the biological clock.

Qn: Will taking anti-hypertensive drugs cause some other complications (short / long term)?

Ans : Yes, most drugs have some side effects. However, modern anti-hypertensive drugs are extremely safe.

Qn: Will consuming more coffee/tea lead to heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Are asthma patients more prone to heart disease?

Ans : No.

Qn: How would you define junk food?

Ans : Fried food like Kentucky , McDonalds , samosas, and even masala dosas.

Qn: You mentioned that Indians are three times more vulnerable. What is the reason for this, as Europeans and Americans also eat a lot of junk food?

Ans: Every race is vulnerable to some disease and unfortunately, Indians are vulnerable for the most expensive disease.

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Is there a relation between heart problems and blood sugar?

Ans: Yes. A strong relationship since diabetics are more vulnerable to heart attacks than non-diabetics.

Qn: What are the things one needs to take care of after a heart operation?

Ans : Diet, exercise, drugs on time , Control cholesterol, BP, weight.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45.(Present Global census show that the Percentage of heart disease in women has increased than in men )
Qn: How can one keep the heart in a good condition?

Ans : Eat a healthy diet, avoid junk food, exercise everyday, do not smoke and, go for health checkups if you are past the age of 30 ( once in six months recommended) ....

How Does the Computer Clock Work?

Every personal computer contains two clocks: a built-in hardware clock and a virtual clock. The hardware clock (real-time clock) runs whether the system is on or off. The virtual clock (system clock) is set to the real-time clock when the computer is turned on and exists only while the computer is operating. While the computer is up and running, the two clocks run independent of each other.

The system clock is a 24-hour timer and has no real concept of days, whereas the real-time clock tracks the time and date. In fact, the system clock has no concept of traditional hours, minutes, and seconds. It merely increments a counter 18.2 times per second. The operating system, which is dependent upon the system clock for the time, converts the counter into hours, minutes and seconds.

As for the date, the operating system reads the real-time clock via the BIOS during initialization, then tracks the date independently based on the virtual-system clock rolling over midnight.

The real-time clocks used in today's personal computers do not track centuries; only years, such as '96, are tracked. After Dec. 31, 1999, the real-time clock merely indicates year '00. It is the BIOS's responsibility to track the century and preserve that information in the real-time clock's nonvolatile memory. The BIOS assumes that the years 1900 through 1979 cannot occur, so when the year is within 00-79 and the century information is 19, the BIOS sets the century information to 20. If the BIOS does not track the century, the operating system will be given an invalid year and most likely will assume 1980. (Microsoft operating systems do not support dates earlier than 1980.)

Caveats

Since the two clocks run independently, the real-time clock can be set to any nonsensical value and the operating system will not notice. Such will occur Jan. 1, 2000 if your system does not support the year 2000. As long as the system is running, the operating system will correctly support the occurrence of the year 2000. Problems will occur, however, when the system is rebooted or powered off, then on. This is the first caveat: setting the date and time just before the year 2000 and just letting the new year occur is not a valid test. The real-time clock may be invalid, but the date according to the operating system will be correct. The system must be powered off, then on to complete this type of test, but there is still a catch.

The second caveat applies when the operating system is used to set the date and time. The system clock will always be set by the operating system. However, not all operating systems will concurrently set the real-time clock with the system clock. In this scenario, the above methodology may cause a system that correctly supports the year 2000 to fail if the operating system does not set the real-time clock as well.
